Using fiber, color, texture and whimsy, we created kelp, tide pools, octopus, sea stars, nudibranchs, jellyfish and other forms of life found under and over its shores.
The Arts Center's intimate side gallery is transformed into an installation that transports visitors into the world of the Salish Sea itself. The main gallery features more traditional art objects, wall hangings, sculptures and quilts—all inspired by the sea—its vastness and beauty, as well as issues such as diversity loss and ocean acidification.
Some pieces in this exhibit are the work of individual members, while others are collaborative efforts. We dedicate the exhibit to the diversity of the Salish Sea—a celebration of the patterns, colors and textures of sea life.
